Mysterious Musings (cont. from "setting the tent up, it's too easy")

Tamaki wandered a ways from Kyouya's tent till he found a strange circle shaped pit carved into the dirt. The area was encircled with various rocks that appeared to have been burnt somewhat. He cocked his head confused with what exactly he has come across and goes over to further inspect the area. There were fragments of ash within the ditch mixed in with pieces of wood. Finally it dawned upon the blonde, this was a spot to build a campfire.

Trying to put himself back in a cheery mood Tono wandered about collecting any branches and pieces of birch he could find and tossed them into the growing pile. Once satisfied with what he accomplished he clapped his hands and waited.... Why wasn't a fire emerging from the depths of his creation? He scratched his head and plopped down in the grass wondering what he did wrong.

Kyouya had walked around the entire site before he got to the campfire site. He sighed in frustration when he saw familiar blonde hair waving in the very slight breeze. Then he smirked, Tamaki had somewhat build the campfire yet he obviously had no idea how to light it.
"You have to light it with fire...it doesn't light itself," Kyouya stated as he walked towards the blonde.

Jumps hearing the voice from behind and whips around to show Kyouya his curious eyes.

"Doesn't lite itself? Then how ever does this confounded contraption wo-", lightbulb turns on, "Ah yes of course! A fire is started with matches or a lighter.", he looks around quite hoping there would be one of the two just laying about in nature at the ready. "K-Kyouya....I don't see anything to start a fire...you don't happen to spot a matchbook or lighter laying about do you?" Do I have to dig for them? He pondered just why on earth all of the materials necessary would not be included here.

Kyouya rolled his eyes, utterly surprised at just how dense Tamaki was.
"Seriously? Tamaki most campers bring their own. Luckily for you, I brought several," he smirked and took a box of matches out of his pocket, he struck the match and lit a wad of paper that he had found and stuffed it between some branches, it quickly set on fire and soon enough the entire campfire was blazing

Gazes at the blaze in dumbfounded awe. The sparks shone against his violet eyes in the otherwise dark night. Tono cautiously reached out near the flames to feel the intense warmth radiating from them.

"Amazing how it comes forth so fast. From nothing more than bits of discarded wood there are sparks of life. It's almost magical if you think about it.", he spared a glaze at Kyouya before asking the obvious, "You wouldn't also happen to have some marshmellos on you would you?"

Kyouya shrugged and took out two metal scewers and a bag of BBQ marshmallows and gave them to Tamaki.
"Enjoy," Kyouya stated in a clipped mannor and moved away to begin walking away.

Carefully takes the skewers and places them beside him as he attempts to open modern packaging. The marshmellow bag tears open easier than expected and at least a forth of its contents plummet to the ground. Oh well at least there's about 3/4s of the bag left, nothing to worry about. Tono picks up the metal to continue the process. Soon he is holding two skewers full of marshmellows over the fire happily. Well that was until they both caught fire violently and the goopy molten sugar glopped down leaving only burnt remains on the heated metal.

"...I think something went amiss there not sure what but it may have been the fire's fault...", Tamaki said more to himself trying to sort out the problem in his head.

Kyouya rolled his eyes and stood behind Tamaki, pushing the mashmallows onto the scewers as he talked.
"You really are useless sometimes, Tamaki. Here, let me help," he stated and held both of Tamaki's hands that help a scewer each. He put them close to the fire before retracting a couple of centimeters so the flames barely licked the marshmallows yet they soon began to crisp and begin to melt before Kyouya retracted their hands.
"There you go, you just yours too close to the flame," he stated with a shrug.

Was about to pull a Col. Mustang depression moment at being called 'useless', but didn't have the time to. He observed in silence and awe at his treasurer's knowledge of the great outdoors. This is something he learned from family outings? Perhaps he could have just read it, however, some things are far better learned through experience. The marshmellows caramelled before them in seconds and before Tono had time to note this Kyouya had retreated them from the fiery flames (not sure what else a fire could be but...this writer will keep you posted).

"Oh I see... You don't place them directly IN the fire but rather ABOVE it.", he commented as he started to side one off. Careful camper's note: One does NOT just pull off recently roasted marshmellows before allowing them to cool, especially on metal skewers. It is needless to say whom found this out the hard way... Some of the hot, sticky sugar goo stuck to the slim fingers as yelps of pain began.

Kyouya simply rolled his eyes yet again and gave Tamaki a cold damp cloth.
"I knew you'd do that...put the cloth on your hand until it cools down," Kyouya stated with a sigh.

Does as directed with wide watery eyes, "K-kyouya...how did you know?", he wonders before gasping in realization, "By gods! You've developed ESP, haven't you?", he asked clutching the cloth to this fingers before sucking on them to ease the pain.

Kyouya snorted and rolled his eyes,
"No, Tamaki. I just know how careless you can be," Kyouya stated, he took his glasses off and placed them in his jeans pocket.
"After all, I've known you for long enough," he shrugged.

"A-ah of course...", he utters to himself looking down to kiss his fingertips before gazing back up again. It was stunning how one's appearance could change so drastically with such a subtle alteration as an accessory. With the glass that was normally in the way gone, Kyouya's eyes appeared unobscured in view.

"...You have quite remarkable eyes, my friend. Has anyone ever told you that?", the blonde commented admiring them.

Kyouya smirked softly and walked towards Tamaki, his strides were purposeful and stealthy.
"I must admit, no one has ever told me such a thing. However. It means more coming from you anyway," Kyouya smirked lustfuly and crouched on one knee in front of Tamaki.

Cheeks go red as the other approaches him and gulps. What curious mannerisms he was reading off his usually serious and, well to be frank, somewhat boring companion. Tono scuttled backward slightly alarmed for some reason at this.

"K-kyouya are you alright? You're um...something isn't adding up.", he tried to point it out but didn't know what it was.

Kyouya sighed and dropped his head in frustration and surrender.
"Forget it, I'm going to bed," Kyouya sighed, turned and then walked away without a second glance to Tamaki.

Blinks totally oblivious then calls out, "Okay goodnight sleeptight!"

Having enough excitement and bruises for one day the host king chooses to retire himself as well. He stands and brushes himself off before making way to his tent.
